Addis Ababa, October 27, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopia is set to share its green legacy initiative, renewable energy and climate resilient green economy experiences at the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference, to be held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, from 6 to 18 November.

The Ethiopian Minister of Planning and Development, Fitsum Aseffa, received Janet Rogan, British Ambassador of COP 26 for Africa and the Middle East, in her office and exchanged views on climate change and Ethiopia’s experiences in the field.

In their discussion, the Minister provided extensive explanation about the work that Ethiopia is doing to prevent climate change.

According to Minister Fitsum, Ethiopia is ready to share its climate change prevention experiences and achievements to the world at the UNFCCC COP 27, scheduled to be held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

She said that efforts will be made to share the world about green legacy initiative, environmental protection works, building of climate resilient green economy, and renewable energy experiences at the Conference.

UK’s COP 26 Ambassador for Africa and the Middle East, Janet Rogan, on her part, said that Britain is keen to share its experience in the field with Ethiopia.

She also confirmed that Britain is interested in continuing the effective activities that the two countries have started in the area of ​​climate change prevention and helping Ethiopia’s effective activities.
