Addis Ababa, November 22, 2022 (FBC) – The FDRE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Demeke Mekonnen discussed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria, Ramatan Lamamran.
During their discussion, Demeke explained the current state of affairs in Ethiopia and the peace agreement signed in South Africa.
DPM & FM Demeke appreciated Algeria for the principled position it took when Ethiopia faced challenges.
Ramatan Lamamran, for his part, said that the peace agreement shows that Africa has the capacity to solve its own problems.
Algeria always demands Ethiopia’s territorial integrity and security to be respected, the official added.
In their discussion, the two FMs agreed to work together to strengthen Ethio-Algeria friendship.
Demeke Mekonnen is in Niamey, Niger, to participate in the special meeting of African Union officials, scheduled to kick off on Wednesday.
